Our Energy Audits will provide sound recommendations for energy saving upgrades with realistic payback periods for each one. Our BPI certified consultants provide additional value by:
- Identifying applicable incentives from various government levels, utility providers, etc.,
- Considering the useful life of the existing equipment in our recommendations
- Considering how the life expectancy of the recommended retrofits impacts the overall operating cost and

The objectives of the energy audit are to identify areas at the building where modifications will reduce energy use and/or the cost of operating the building.
An energy audit consists of the following steps:
- Collect and analyze historic energy use. This must be carried out prior to the site visit. The area of conditioned space in the building is required for this analysis.
- Interview your building superintendant and maintenance staff to know what their normal every day procedures. Changing procedures can be energy saving as well.
- Site review of the building and its operating characteristics.
- Identify potential modifications that will reduce the energy use and/or cost. This includes building systems that consume energy and water, as well as the building envelope, which is intended to separate the indoor environment from the outdoors.
- Perform a cost-effectiveness analysis of the potential modifications.
- Prepare a cost-effectiveness rank-ordered list of recommended modifications, including initial budget cost estimates or the modifications and the simple payback periods.
- Identify, where possible, government, utility company incentives applicable to the recommended modifications.
- Prepare a report to document the analysis process, results and recommendations.
- Assist in the completion of incentive applications, as necessary.
